~Welcoming Perennials~

Shades of pink and of purple were a great surprise today! The Perennials are making their appearances in our gardens.

Ah, Spring!

Spring has arrived! It is wonderful to see the perennials popping up!

On all sides of our yard there is color!  Lavendars, greens, pinks and yellows! Welcome Spring!  It's good to have you back.

Oh, has it been hot!!  Walking outside reminds me of entering a greenhouse in the late spring.  The warm moisty air always seems to c-l-i-n-g.  No, I do not make a habit of walking into greenhouses.  Well, this hot moisty air has been enjoyed by the annuals and perennials that always add color to our yard!

Colorful Petunias!

The bright lavender Petunias are bursting with color!!

Budding Zinnias

The Zinnia seeds sprouted.  Before we knew it, many sets of leaves were visible.  Now, the buds are forming!

Front Garden

The Daylilies are beginning to blossom!  First, there were three.  Next there were four!  Tomorrow there will be so many more!!

The summer flowers are enjoying this 6 day heat wave!  The weekend looks cooler!!

Some Colors of May

Bright Pink Peonies!

Here are some of the beautiful colors of May!  We have been enjoying our flowering bushes this spring.  Now, the perennials are also bursting into color.

Lavender Chives!

These Chives always add a beautiful shade of lavender to our garden.

Bleeding Hearts

Years ago 4 small Bleeding Hearts were planted in our back garden.  Now, they've multiplied & found their spot around a large boulder.

Champagne Rhododendron

The white blossoms on the Champagne Rhododendron are dainty.

~Early Spring~

The snow that fell 2 weeks ago has melted.  The rain has now stopped.  Today the sun is shining, so it was time to check out the perennial gardens.

In our front yard the lavender Crocuses in our lawn are enjoying the sunshine!

A Ritual of Spring!

A walk to our backyard brought more smiles!  The sole Daffodil in our back perennial garden already had a bud before the snowfall.  Yes, it's growing!

"Spring Fever"

It's beginning to feel like- well Spring!  This past weekend's activities brought thoughts of warmer weather. 

1. Taking walks outside instead of using my treadmill.
2. Grilling Chicken outdoors for dinner.
3. And- the first sign of color in our yard!  A Crocus is blossoming today!
