~Happy Thanksgiving!!!~

The Cape (Cape Cod) in Massachusetts is one of my fave places!!  There is nothing like sitting on a beach breathing in the salty air and listening to the waves crashing on the shore.  This combination is so peaceful.

When we visit, if we are not sitting at the shore watching and listening to the waves, walking along the beach or enjoying a yummy seafood dinner, it is very possible that we are learning a bit more history about this area of our beautiful country.

A few years ago (in 2012) I wrote a post:  "The Journey of the Pilgrims".  Every year at Thanksgiving I reread it.  During this time when we are celebrating this holiday, it's interesting to learn a little more and remember the history about the voyage of the Mayflower.

During this time at Thanksgiving, click on my post and follow the journey of the brave people who crossed the Atlantic Ocean so many years ago.  It's always fascinating!!

Enjoy!

The Journey of the Mayflower

Learning a little more history is always fascinating!  The Cape (Cape Cod) is a beautiful area in my state of Massachusetts.  Whenever we stop in to the town of Chatham, MA, it's always interesting to read and review a little history.  The area across from the Chatham Lighthouse is not only scenic, there is an interesting plaque to read.

A few years ago in November of 2012, I wrote a post about the history and the voyage of the Mayflower.  I find that it is still a favorite read.  What better time than during Thanksgiving Day week is there to share it again?

I wish you all

The Journey of the Pilgrims

The Cape...Cape Cod in MA... is a wonderful place to visit, especially during the warmer months.  In the small towns a bit of History can always be learned!  In the town of Chatham, the Chatham Lighthouse is definitely a "must stop and see again" whenever we are at the Cape.  The Lighthouse overlooks Chatham Bar and is now a home to a Coast Guard Small Boat Station.  The Coast Guard Station aids boaters and fishing boats whenever emergencies arise.
There is a wonderful bit of History to learn while enjoying the salty air in this scenic area.  What better time to share it with you than now, during Thanksgiving?

I've posted a photo of the plaque I enjoy reading at this area.  I've also posted the individual sections.  Click on each individual section and the story of the Pilgrims journey to the New World is easy to read.
