On a warm Spring day today- a quick walk around our yard brought color!! Greens, yellows, browns and a touch of blue are visible. Welcoming colors!

Time to enjoy the colors in Western MA on a summer day!  Each day more buds burst open.

The remaining views!

All summer and into autumn we have been enjoying the beautiful vibrant colors in our gardens!  Glancing in any direction brings new views.  As the summer progresses the colors changed as the perennials changed.  Now that we are at the end of September I was happily surprised to see rosebuds on our rose bushes!

Looking carefully into one of our gardens a remaining yellow D'Oro Lily was blossoming!  There are even a few more buds.

Our Porcupine Grasses now have copper colored fronds on top.  As the gentle breezes blow, they move gracefully.

Suddenly, the Holly Bush has bright red berries!  We know that a "hard" frost is in our future, so it's great to appreciate the last views of colorful flowers in our yard.  Soon, the bright colors of autumn on the trees will make an appearance.

Perennials!

The pinks, the whites, the lavenders along with the greens are popping up in our back perennial garden!  What a welcome sight!  Enjoying the beautiful colors of Spring is always a treat after the snow disappears.  Our weather is a bit warmer now, so the blossoms are here.  It's so very cool that so many shades of color are now found in our yard.

October Scenery 2018

October brings beautiful colors to New England.  It's always a treat to drive on our streets and/ or take the daily walk and admire the sometimes pale, sometimes bright colors.  I've been enjoying the scenery in my yard and neighborhood, but the Red Sox and the World Series playoffs had me preoccupied!  

The leaves turned color a little later than usual this October, but now we see the change everywhere we look.  The autumn colors in our yard are beautiful!

Sometimes, the gorgeous view is ahead.  Other times, we look up to see that leaves have changed to shades of golds, oranges and reds.

So many visitors come to enjoy the scenery, but we are very fortunate.  The beautiful scenery is in our backyards!

Autumn Colors

Looking up!

This is the time of year when looking up whenever I'm outdoors definitely has its rewards!  Our green leaves on the trees are changing color.  Bright yellows, brilliant oranges & Burning Bush reds are all in view.  If a breeze is blowing, it looks like Impressionist paintings are just waiting to be admired.

While taking the daily walk these are 3 of the sights that were gorgeous in my neighborhood!

Every day the colors change a bit more.  Every Autumn we enjoy this assortment of colors on every street- just by stepping outside.

~Frost in the Air!~

Thump, pop, boing!  That's the sound of the acorns falling off of the Oak tree branches when the wind is blowing & they hit our roof.  If the acorns hit our gutters, there's a boing before bouncing on the ground.  Sometimes a double bounce.  They do have a kick to their step!  With the large quantity of acorns on the ground it's a sign that winter is not far away.  Well, they all need to be raked along with the leaves that will be falling before we start thinking about that word snow.

Our weathermen have been warning us that a frost is in our forecast tonight & again tomorrow night.    Woah!  Today was probably the last day to enjoy my New Guinea Impatiens that have added so much color on our deck.  Yes, those are 2 deer antlers attached to the shutters of our shed.  They were found in the grass over the years.

This Fall we've been enjoying the Asters that continue to pop up every year.  Soon the stalks will be cut back & mulched.  In the Spring the new green shoots will sprout & we'll have another large crop next Fall.

The Marigold & the Zinnia seeds have been collected/ dried & stored.  This week the leaves on our trees will change even more to beautiful shades of golds, oranges, reds & maroons.  We do enjoy the 4 seasons of New England.  Tonight it will be a little more chilly.
