Creamy Cheesy Pie

Creamy Cheesy Pie
(File Photo)
ready to slice & serve
My mother- in- law introduced me to Creamy Cheesy Pie.  It was decades ago when Jim & I visited his parents in Florida.  Two weeks before arriving, I had prepared a cheesecake that took 2 hours to prepare.  After making the pie crust shell, the filling was prepared.  Then, the cheesecake was baked.  It tasted so delicious, but it was so time consuming.

On this particular visit to the sunny state I was introduced to a very easy dessert.  After dinner one night, we all enjoyed our dessert- Creamy Cheesy Pie.  It was served with a little whipped cream on top.  Oh, it was so good!  My MIL told me it was a "cinch" to make.  She was not kidding!!!  One 2- serving box of vanilla cook & serve pudding was prepared & it was combined with 8 ounces of Cream Cheese.  Then, the mixture was poured into a pre-made graham cracker crust.  Into the fridge it went to cool.  O.K. , now that is easy!!!  It's not only easy, it tastes so good!!!

No, I never went back to preparing that other Cheesecake again.  ;)

This is a dessert I make "every so often".  Cheesecake has always been a favorite dessert of mine.  Polish Cheesecake, Carrot Cheesecake & Key Lime Cheesecake are quite hard to resist in my book.  This one is too!!!

A Few Hints:
  •  My family uses 1% Milk, so I add 1 Tablespoon powdered milk into pot before making pudding.
  • I use Jell-O brand pudding mix, because I do not burn the pot when I use the Jell-O brand.  :)

  • My son has prepared a delicious Chocolate Creamy Cheesy Pie using chocolate pudding mix.

Creamy Cheesy Pie

Method:
  1. Prepare Pudding according to package directions.
  2. Place Cream Cheese in a medium bowl.
  3. Pour hot cooked Pudding over Cream Cheese and whisk until smooth.
  4. Pour mixture into Graham Cracker crust.  Smooth mixture to crust edges.
  5. Cool about 30 minutes.  Then, cover with plastic wrap.
  6. Refrigerate overnight.
  7. Cut into slices.  Add whipped cream on top.
  8. Place berries on the side.
  9. Refrigerate remaining pie to enjoy again.  Yum!
I will be making this dessert on Monday afternoon.  Topped with a little Strawberry Freezer Jam & then whipped cream. Oh yum!!!

Will you be making one, too?  Easy + delicious!!!

Pudding Pops

Pleasingly plain Pudding Pops!  On a warm ... o.k.... hot day opening the freezer door and locating refreshing Vanilla Pudding Pops even sounds like a cool idea.  It sure is an easy idea.  My Tupperware molds, 1 box of Cook & Serve Jell-O Pudding and 2 Cups Milk were located and I was on my way.  After the pudding was prepared and it cooled a few minutes, I poured it into the molds.  Snap on the tops and place in the molds' tray.  After a few hours in the freezer a refreshingly cold dessert awaits!

This summer I've seen "pop molds" in the kitchen depts. of various stores.  Mine were purchased years ago.  They sure do come in handy.  (Grape Juice makes yummy purple pops!)

I use Jell-O brand Cook & Serve pudding for a simple reason - when using this brand I do not burn any pudding in the pot.  No need for that for me.  :)

Time to make more Pudding Pops!  Maybe chocolate!
Enjoy!
Yummy!

Pops From the Past

Wow! The white freezer pop molds and tray were packed away in the brown cardboard box for at least two years. So that’s where they were all this time! I could not remember where they were located, but I knew that I still had them … somewhere.

Many summers ago when my sons were young children Pudding Pops could be found in our freezer to enjoy on a hot sweltering day. Yesterday, locating my Tupperware molds and the tray was a great find for me. So … it did not take me long to wash the molds/tray and use them after a number of years. While they were drying I prepared a box of Jello Cook & Serve Vanilla Pudding, according to package directions. After the pudding cooled for about 30 minutes, I spooned the creamy delicious pudding into the molds and attached the plastic sticks on the ends. Onto the tray and into the freezer they went.

Today my hubby located these “Pops From the Past”. After devouring a Vanilla Pudding Pop, he happily announced that they taste as good as he remembered. Nice!

Pudding Pops are so easy to make. Easy is good! And … everyone enjoys eating this yummy treat. The freezer molds can be purchased during the summer months.

My pudding of choice is Jello Cook & Serve. I like this brand, because the pot is always easy to clean after preparing the Jello pudding.

Does your family enjoy Pudding Pops? Do you make them? What is your favorite flavor? Vanilla is mine! Do you like chocolate?

Enjoy!
Yummy!

Ah, Creamy Cheesy Pie!

Suddenly this weekend summer arrived in April! We searched our closets for shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Our outdoor grill was used and it was time to prepare an easy dessert – Creamy Cheesy Pie! My mother-in-law introduced me to this tasty recipe over 30 years ago. One evening after serving it, she confided to me how simple this delicious treat was to prepare. Oh yes, it certainly is! Vanilla flavored or chocolate flavored – Yummy!

There are few ingredients needed for this scrumptious dessert – a purchased graham cracker piecrust, a box of pudding (to cook), milk and a bar of cream cheese. For best results - prepare and then chill overnight. Before making this dessert, place the purchased graham cracker piecrust on a large plate. Then, pour the filling into the crust. It is easier to place in the fridge.

A slice of Vanilla Creamy Cheesy Pie served with a dollop of whipped cream and a little Freezer Jam! Yummy!

What is your favorite flavor?
Enjoy!
